Researcher · Lagos

Babatunde has long been fascinated by a habit seen across Africa: people betting on booking codes shared by someone else, whether a tipster, a friend or a stranger in a group chat. Could AI read a match and its prices better than any human, and admit when nothing is worth backing? Could a bet become a calculated risk instead of a gamble? And could calibrated sports analytics increase prosperity among Africa’s young adults? Tafiti Labs exists to answer those questions with evidence.

Researcher

Francis studies the psychology of betting: how people choose what to back, why so many trust someone else’s picks over their own judgement, and how odds, luck and losses shape the next decision. The work builds on research in AI and cyberpsychology, and asks how analytics can fit the way people really bet: helping them weigh risk clearly, never exploiting their biases.
